Marietta, GA, Nov. 04, 2009 - The Mohawk Group took to the courts and the green to show its support for the fight against breast cancer. "Teeing off" its efforts surrounding breast cancer awareness month, The Mohawk Group served as a platinum sponsor for the 2009 Ansley Pro-Am, an annual golf and tennis charity event.
Now in its 16th year, the Ansley Pro-Am is recognized as the premier charity pro-am in Georgia. Recently, hundreds of players and pros, volunteers, and spectators joined together to raise nearly $100K for local charities including the Susan G. Komen for the Cure® Greater Atlanta Affiliate. The four-day event, held at the Ansley Golf Club in Atlanta, featured ladies’ and men’s golf and tennis tournaments, pro tennis exhibitions, a children’s clinic, and a black tie gala with live and silent auctions.
A long-time Susan G. Komen supporter, The Mohawk Group pledges ongoing support to Komen for The Cure® with corporate donations and additional contributions based on the carpet their customers specify for their projects. The company donates 25 cents for every yard of carpet specified with its Karastan and Durkan brands to Komen For the Cure®. Since this Specify for the Cure® program’s inception, The Mohawk Group and its customers have contributed more than $3 million to innovative, life-saving research and community-based outreach.
