Barbara Marcy is the Creative Design Director for Durkan. She started her career as an interior designer in the hospitality market and spent eight years designing until joining the sales team at Durkan, where she was an award-winning Durkan sales representative for over 12 years. She holds a Master’s degree in interior design with a focus on historic preservation, and a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, both from Colorado State University. She is an active member in NEWH and past chapter president and continues to encourage networking and development opportunities for young designers. Her creative eye and experience in the interior design field give her a unique perspective and ability to identify the needs of the design community and translate them into relevant products.

Helen Reed is the current President of NEWH. She is a graduate of Virginia Commonwealth University and has over 20 years experience in the field of hospitality design. She started her career as a Project Interior Designer for an award winning Architectural and Interior Design firm, then worked as a manufacturer’s representative for interior materials and furniture. In 1990 she started H.L Reed Design, Inc., a full service design firm that specializes in Restaurants, Country Clubs, Hotels and Retail Spaces. In addition to H.L.Reed Design, she started h2h,inc. in 2001, a full service procurement company that provides purchasing services for the Hospitality and Retail Industries. She is a founding member of the Virginia Chapter of NEWH, and has served as Director of Fundraising, and Vice President of Membership before becoming President of NEWH.

Trisha has over 24 years experience in design and management in hospitality. As President of Design Poole Inc., she has led the creative team to achieve industry success with over 12 design awards within the last ten years in the US and Caribbean. The company’s expertise is delivering a signature impact to their client's target market. Interior Design and Brand Development including sales, marketing and web design are services Design Poole provides to their hospitality clientele including Wyndham Worldwide, Marriott International, Gaylord Entertainment, Starwood Vacation Club, and Pepaj Restaurants. Previously Trisha was VP of Design for Gettys/Chicago and Director of Interior Design for Fugleberg Koch Architects. Trisha graduated from the University of Florida and is a licensed interior designer. Awards: NEWH Joyce L. Johnson Recognition of Excellence Award 2010, Orlando Business Journals "40 under 40 Rising Stars" 1997. Trisha serves as the Executive Advisor to the NEWH Sunshine Board and the VP of Marketing for NEWH Inc. Executive Committee.
